Mediation vs. Document Preparation
These are two very different services. Understanding the difference helps you choose the right path.
Mediation
Neutral facilitation between both parties
- • A certified mediator works with both sides together to find common ground
- • The mediator remains completely neutral—no advice to either party
- • Goal: a voluntary, mutually agreed-upon resolution
- • Results in a non-legal term sheet for review by independent counsel
Document Preparation
One-sided administrative assembly help
- • Works with one individual who is representing themselves
- • Helps organize, format, and assemble your documents per your direction
- • Goal: a clean, court-ready filing packet
- • No facilitation between parties—no negotiation or mediation involved
Important Information
- • We do not take sides or advise either party on what to accept.
- • Parties are encouraged to seek independent legal advice before signing any agreements.
